I'm alive, I swear!

Oh lord. The semester is in full swing, let me tell you, but I am enjoying myself. My brain has been taken over entirely by this badass named Charles Sanders Peirce who was crazy brilliant, and had awesome opinions about semiotics, and married his mistress, and had no social skills, and was a morphine user. I adore that class, seriously. But that ( Read more... )

Spider Jerusalem: Cheap, but not as cheap as your girlfriend! subversive_kiwi February 6 2010, 07:20:46 UTC
I am SO SO glad that you love Transmet! Discovering it has been one of the best things I have going for me this year... let me know if there's ever a time when you want to do happy fangirl dances with me about it. :D

How far have you read? It's in the MLLL, and Peter and Andrew have got the whole thing on their server, if you want. (Yes, I'm an enabler.)

I mainlined it in the MLL, finished all of it. I read overnight there even, falling asleep by accident. It's amaaaazing, though, and I'd love to fangirl it with you!

Whoa, I didn't realize that you mainlined the whole damn thing! That sounds like a hell of a night! I don't know if you tend to reread things or not, but if I were you, I'd wait a month or three, and start reading again, but waaay more slowly. There's a huge number of things happening in the background that add to it enormously, be it things in the panels behind the characters, or literary references, or banter that you didn't quite catch the first time. I love discovering new aspects of things that I love, and Transmet is so full of little gems.

Plus, I just fangirl Warren Ellis, but hell. I'd love to talk with you in person about the series!

If you're really serious about semiotics, join sign_studies. It's kind of hobbling along despite my best efforts, but still-the more the merrier.
