What is this "add friends with tags" or whatever thing? Is it like a quick and dirty filtering system?

See the comment just below! I think that is how that works. I guess it is an answer to "following" someone without actually "friending" them.

Yeah, I THINK so. I think now you can just follow a certain tag from certain people?

Like if I wanted to just read fanfiction on X's journal I can just friend them and entries with the tag 'fanfiction' will show up.

AT LEAST I THINK THAT IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK.

Though I suppose it does make sense. Hmmm. Like an opt-in filter.
