I've started my apartment search in earnest. I've been scanning craigslist like a fiend, reading hundreds of posts a day and gleaning the 4 or 5 viable options for me. It's still a little early for a September move, but I would like to have a place set in stone by July 1

Ha your apartment search sorta sounds like my job search. Minus an earthy-crunchy lady. The way you feel about the JP place is how I feel about this job I was offered, I wish that I had forever to get back to them while exploring all my other leads and online finds. But no such luck. I think I'll be taking this job because I think it will make me happy.

Good luck with the apartment search! I always like shopping for places to live for some reason, though I've never had to get my own place. It's fun to see how people live :)

JP is supposed to be a great neighborhood :) i would love to hang out with you there! :) porter is also really cool.
also-- in my experience apartment hunting is not something where you can expect to find a perfect match. you just have to look for a place where you think you could be happy and the pluses outweigh the minuses. so if you like the JP apartment, i would say go for it! especially since it has FREE LAUNDRY! you have no idea what a bonus that is! i am jealous :)
