I think I'll go to Boston...

Ever since I found out I got in to Emerson, I feel like things have been rolling very slowly. I knew that I had a lot of things to figure out, but I also knew that I had some time to figure it out. In the past few weeks, things have been moving at a pretty decent pace. I made my doctor's appointment to get my medical records straightened out, and ( Read more... )

Oh yay Jill, I'm so excited you got a place, and especially a place that you really like! And now I have one more person to visit in Beantown if I ever come rolling back in :)

Plus I figure, if you're going to change something in your life (like going back to school), you might as well shake everything up! So it sounds like you're doing a good job of it, even if you have to sell your car. It's probably a pretty tough decision though :(

Also, I loved how you said "After the Russian closet of silence..." hahah. That made me laugh.

Oooh, this one sounds great!! I love brownstones!!! And circular rooms!! How cool! Also, when I moved from my apt with Sherrie to my apt with Candace, I got an in-apt washer-dryer and I can't tell you how much of a difference it made. The other big differene was a dishwasher, which I got when I moved into my Boulder house. Holy change to roommate squabbling ( ... )

Also, about parking not being too terrible of a nightmare; sometimes it was hard to negotiate resident permit parking and find a free, overnight spot, but the effort was worth it on weeknights because most likely, I would be parking there for a couple days. (I learned which spots to park in on which days of the week because sometimes there are day restrictions). Weekends weren't so bad for parking because business people were out and people who lived in the neighborhood were out in their cars instead of at work/school on public transport like me, so there were more spots, which was good, because i came and went more frequently (but still not incredibly often) on weekends.

You could always do a craigslist post or find a boston bb forum somewhere and ask people who live in the area how terrible it is. :)
