I realized tonight that I somehow failed to save the draft I posted of my piece....thank god I'm such a big dork and posted it to lj or I would have lost all my revisions and about 4 pages of material.

What do you think of the title "Fear of Flying"?  I sprinkled in some Italian/English

How about,
Sitting at an outdoor table at a small café outside of what was once Dante Alighieri’s house in May, writing in my notebook, I studied my surroundings carefully, recording the details on paper. (because you just said remember with the italian - which I love).

I like the reworking (especially with the follow-up to now); the last line adds to your connection with the notebook... but I think it feels a little short (length-wise) and I'm not sure I can think of anything else right now (it's far too early in the morning). Does that make sense?

P.S. I think you deserved whatever kind of day you wanted yesterday, including one with a 10 hour marathon and eat-in Chinese. No guilt -- you needed that.

I loveeee the reworked ending. I'm not sure on what I think about the title. Although, I have no good suggestions, either.
