A few questions

I'm curious to know your opinions about what is and isn't valid in a just society.

If it were up to you to make the rules, and your goal was to set up a stable and just society....

1. What limits [if any] would you place on the government's ability to make demands (taxes, military service, exercise, etc) of an individual?

2. What limits [if any] would you place on the government's ability to provide things (food, clothing, SUVs, etc) for individuals?

3. Which laws [if any] would you allow certain people to be exempt from, and under what conditions?

4. What characteristics [if any] (wealth, age, height, etc) would you allow the government to consider when treating individuals differently for the previous three questions?

5. What limits [if any] would you place on the governments's ability to provide things (roads, public transit, suicide booths, etc) that anyone can use?

6. What limits [if any] would you place on government's ability to spend money it doesn't have and promise that some future generation will pay it off?

7. How would you insure that the government stayed within its budget?

8. Assuming that laws can be updated, who would be in charge of that, and how would that work?

9. What steps [if any] would you take to prevent greedy individuals from changing laws or gaming the system to take advantage of other members of society?

10. Which of the previous answers would you allow society to change later, what sorts of changes (add, delete, edit) would you allow, and what sort of buy-in would such changes require?

Remember to keep it civil. There are people here who might enjoy discussing politics as long as it doesn't get heated.

Come on, I know there are other opinions out there. Speak up already.
