I went to see Underworld last night, mostly because I was curious to see what White Wolf was complaining about.
The film looked pretty, but it included abusively loud gratuitous sound effects and weak dialog. I think I'd have liked it more as a silent film.
I can picture the director's cut version now. It will be a half hour longer, the only difference will be the scenes they put back in where people reload their weapons, and it will be significantly less comical. But they won't replace that last scene with the sword, so the film will still be uproariously funny.
