Shopping Excursion at Newflower Farmers Market

This new store opened in South Austin earlier this week. I'd read that they were packed then, so I thought that 9:30 on a Saturday morning wouldn't be too bad. Wrong. There were two parking spaces empty when I got there -- far from the door, but then, I normally park far from the door anyway

I wish we had something like that up in the far northwest Austin region. By me HEB is pretty much the only choice. I also like cooking a lot on a Sunday and eating what a cooked all week. I made a simple lasagne yesterday with ground turkey and fat-free ricotta cheese, which seems pretty good.

The king ranch casserole sounds great!

It was -- I brought it for lunch today, and as it was heating up in the microwave, my co-worker said, "ooh, what is THAT -- it smells great!"

The lasagna sounds good, and it should freeze well, too, if you can't eat it all this week.

Ginger -- I forgot that I add a bit of freshly grated ginger and a little bit of toasted sesame oil. (It doesn't take much of either of these ingredients to add flavor.)
