Hi everyone! I'm tired of complaining that tumblr doesn't allow for human interaction the way LJ did and so fandom is a cold, sad place now. Better to light a candle than curse the darkness etc etc. I'm going to post here more. I'm not particularly fannish lately, but Maggie Stiefvater's Raven Cycle, the book series for which I wrote my Yuletide story (and I beta-read two stories for it as well) is what's inspiring me the most. My husband and I are watching Battlestar Galactica, nearly halfway through the last season, but I'm not fannish about it (I just enjoy it).

I started Coldfire last summer but lost interest about halfway through the first book. (Sorry!)

I'm sure Coldfire is love or hate - that's why I'm not twisting anyone's arm to read it. I'm reading it for the zillionth time right now and putting in sticky notes and highlighting and doing all kinds of things. Why, I don't know, other than I'm still trying to get my head around it.

I'm going to put that Raven Cycle on my to read list. It must be good stuff.

You should friend trobadora - she's the biggest Coldfire fan I know.

I ought to write up a post about why everyone should read The Raven Cycle. It's an ensemble cast of fucked-up teenagers (some of whom are quite improbable, really; not very believable as teens, which honestly is why I like it, because I'm not INTO teens), with psychic mystical stuff that really works, weird magic, ley lines, dreams that turn into reality, ghosts, a canonically gay (apparently) character, doomed romances etc etc. I ate it up with a SPOON.

I've been watching Sherlock, and fandom crushing still on Avengers a little bit. Mostly Clint. ;) I did love Loki in Thor 2, though. He made the movie awesome.
