ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod!! Paul is a cannibal!! & Peter is dead! D: srsly. i just got home from work & went to check on them & there was Paul chowing down on what is left of Peter. :'( & they had a little bowl of food & some crackers to munch on. but no. is that normal guys? will he he mice food ever again? will he starve himself now that he's the ( Read more... )

Actually... the same exact thing happened to me. I rescued two male mice from some guy who was going to release them after his snake died. They had lived together the entire time, but once I put them in their new cage in my house, one of them ate the other :/ It was sad, but I probably should have researched before I did that.

I'm so sorry to hear that! DD: I know mice can be territorial, so even if they were in the same cage, maybe when they moved one got more aggressive. When I first got my mice, I had Fievel, a girl, from a random petshop and then I got Blank and Zorro (who were in separate cages, I thiiink..) from another petshop. Blank and Zorro fought pretty much the minute I brought them back, so the next day I took Zorro back since he was pretty territorial.

The guy at the shop told me you're actually not supposed to have more than one mouse in the same cage unless they're related (which most of the mice at shops are anyway). But it's still hard to say. D: The boys I have now are all brothers, but they still fight sometimes.

I don't think it's that uncommon, though, so don't worry too much. :( *HUGS* ♥!
