So the new job seems to be working out great! I am so much more into what I am doing now vs before. I actually get to design/install/fix things, instead of opening requests for others to do it. Well I'll be, I never knew MAC OSX is based on BSD unix. Now I will be learning some shell scripting, possibly PERL to automate some of the tasks I will be doing. I'm even being encouraged to learn PHP to run those pesky metric reports out to a webpage rather than an Excel spreadsheet. This is my final weeek at Citigroup. I am taking next week opff to reset my brain and then I start at Apple on March 7th. Gonna be great to not have to take BART to work. no more payiong for parking. No more toll bridges. and 2 extra hours a day saved in the commute as well. Life is looking up.

I got the call from Apple today!!! THey made a offer. I am supposed to get the electronic version on Tuesday followed by a paper copy the next day. THe $ was a more than I anticipated, but less than I make now. Considering the money saved in commuting and gas and such, as well as my wife's recent raise we should be net sum for the change in job. I have had 2 emails at the end of last week form the company doing the background check for the Apple job. Some peope are telling me that typically a company doesn't spend the money on the check unles they are serious about offerring you a position. So I hope to hear something soon. I am in full wait nmode now.

So I went to Apple today and interviewed for the Voice analyst position mentioned before. I was there for 3 hours and interviewed by 6 differrent people. Very strange. I met many of the people I would be working with on a day to day basis. I have to admit it was a bit tiring. Most asked a few of the same qustions, primarily about my work history ( Read more... )
