Just read the first part and wanted to tell you I love it. I'm not sure what you didn't like about it, but if this is you at your worst, you're a pretty brilliant writer. It works alright as a stand alone, but I'm intrigued by Atlantis' abandonment.

Okay finished the last one. Ouch! And the problem of course is that they can't just swoop back in to steal him away, because that'll mean breaking faith and losing the trade. In some way I guess what he's doing isn't so different from entering military service. That's not a job you can just walk away from either. Except they're actually calling it slavery here.
