So you want to know why I post mostly from DW these days?

Well, it's actions like this that have made me decide I wouldn't give LJ's Moscow masters any more of my money for a paid account. I hate the ads and the attitude that my content is there to draw anyone to see those ads. I dislike the attitudes toward the producers of LJ's contents that they've displayed since Six Apart took over. And it just gets ( Read more... )

The only way I will move to DW is when all my LJ friends have disappeared.

That said, I completely agree that this is an egregious step, and have written LJ to say so. Not that it matters. Like all large corporations, they'll do what they want to.

I only retain my LJ account to post to certain LJ only communities (while heartily wishing they would migrate, if not to DW or IJ, then somewhere or to something else) and to follow a few people who stay there for their own reasons.

(I also post from DW, rather than IJ, because it lets me crosspost to IJ and LJ when I want to.)

In a couple of cases I've established feeds to DW so I won't miss when someone (like you) posts even if I don't get to reading IJ or LJ.

I think that we're all unhappy because there just isn't any one service that's perfect and everyone has a different list of must-haves/don't-care-about-thats.

It's just that I hate DW far more than I hate LJ. What we need, as I've said too often, is some aggregator, not another stupid LJ fork.

But I'm not a programmer, so I can't do anything but whiiiiiiine. I will be very very sorry the day you disappear from LJ.
