I too send good New Year wishes... while being remiss in sending massive amounts of copious adoring feedback.
Seriously... I just discovered your series (life has been full of much uncertainty for me of late) and I have been spending all my spare time enjoying a step outside the reality of my present life in your brilliant story.
There are so many characterizations that I've enjoyed. Novak's is, without a doubt, my favorite. Not to say that I haven't loved the others and what you've done with the original characters.
I am very much looking forward to being able to read it (i.e., save to my hard drive) in it's entirety. (although there will be a large amount of sadness in knowing that it has actually ended)
Your stories are amongst my most favorites and I am always thrilled (and a bit anxious) over what you'll do next. =)
Thank you and here's hoping the new year treats you well too.
(It's no surprise you hadn't discovered GT&T; I've posted it as I go along, but only in a journal, not at any comm, because it's slow going and unfinished. When I finish I'll post it to AO3 and at my site in a single page file for all you hard drive savers :) -- I do that too.)
Re - Novak and the other women, I'm really proud of what the story has done with and for them, how I've been able to show how tough a woman can be, and that that doesn't necessarily mean she can beat down a giant with her bare hands, but that she'll do it with brains and teamwork and stubbornness. But Novak's my favorite because she's growing and changing. I have to figure out what the conclusion of her arc is, whether she stays in Pegasus or makes it back to Earth. (Vague enough for you? I don't want to give away the next parts.)
"Oh, come on," Daniel muttered. "Am I the only one who isn't enamored of this space pirates crap?"
I LOVE THIS STORY!!
And back to the women... and your all inclusive storytelling... I am most definitely a McShepper beyond reason, but to get that AND a full blown kick ass back story... well, that's just reading nirvana!!
And Novak? Staying in Pegasus is awesome and I hope she does... but having a serious infusion of courage and self realization would make her a person to be considered back on Earth.
But really? Fuck Earth! Who would want to come back here if they could be the Dread Pirate Roberts!!
