For those of you who knew Diana Battis, aka
sjersey_tomato and/or read her X-Files fic back in the day, I am sad to pass along this post that appeared at the Haven and on e-muse on Friday:
We are beyond saddened to have to tell you that Diana Battis, our dear friend and fellow member of Musea, has passed away. After a long period of health issues, she died in her sleep in the home she had shared with her family for many years. Her family has told us that Diana did not want any type of service or memorial, so we do not have any other information that we can share with you.
If Diana were here, she would know exactly what words to put together to convey our sense of loss. But right now, this group of writers has no words.
It was a privilege for us to know her as a writer, beta reader, and most importantly, as a friend. We'll miss her terribly.

Di was an important part of my "formative years" online. I had the pleasure of visiting her at her home for a couple of days several years back, and she was genuinely warm, witty and charming.
