Aud thought: Happy Hour

Aug 29, 2005 21:40

Every once in a while my thoughts trail off into some sort of intelligence null and absurd and random ideas pour forth. On this particular evening, due to my painful boredom, you will be privy to this phenomenon politely referred to as my thought process.

Again

**ahem**

Whatever.

Anydanghow! Tonight's topic is "happy hour".

Happy Hour!! )

A question. I know you are an accountant not a marketer. But in your knowlege is it or is it not possible to create a need/desire for a product artificially?

I maintane that it is. But I don't have any hard evidence.
Someone else says that it is not. That Marketers cannot create a desire for any products that a consumer doesn't already want on some level. They further claim that Marketers seek to inform. I asked how much information do you see in your average comercial or in your average magazine article. They said that isn't marketing that is advertising. I said isn't your advertising campeighn desighned to meet your marketing goals? Don't most advertising departments answere to a marketer? But I don't know all this buisiness stuff is new to me.

Can you keep up? Baby boy - make me lose my breath,
Bring the noise, make me lose my breath.
Hit me hard, make me lose my breath.

**insert loss of breath noises here**

I'm gonna have that song stuck in my head now, those "earworms" are a killer too! But anyway, about your post...good call. Hooray for the working man, and Kudos to Sonic for providing a non-alocholic reward for those too young to drink, and for those of age that choose not to! I could use a slushey....oh well guess bed will have to do! *yawn*

So, now that we have read the witty and undoubtably well thought out posts from the men of LJ...let's hear from the chicks, shall we?

First and formost...God forbid Sonic should lose money because it extends "Happy Hour" to the masses at a "normal" time (defined as: after 5pm when most adverage working Joe and Jane's are off work). Why on earth would they want to do that? That would make some sort of sense and we just can't have that. Now, as for the undoubtably exhausted 5 year olds who had a rough day on the playground, let us ponder the fact that thier parents will not be arriving to pick them up from school or daycare until they themselves have left work for the day, yes? So, again, how exactly would it benefit the little ones to have "Happy Hour" in the middle of the afternoon? Just my random thoughts for you to ponder in your quest for eternal (or useless, if you wish) knowledge.

Glad I could make you smile!

Hop on that plane and let me know what time to pick you up! I'll be there, grab Cilla and her man too! We'll party like it's 1999!

Hey, you know that the Site Coordinator for the Southwest Region quit (she's my counterpart for work -- Southern Cali & Vegas) I think you should apply! We'd get to work together again!

Love Ya!
