I think someone here posted Laura Marling's Alas I Cannot Swim. Whoever did, I owe you a debt of gratitude--it's my #1 played song in iTunes. This version is live. The original song is a hidden track after a few minutes of birds chirping on her first CD, Alas I Cannot Swim and it's much more down-beat version of this song. I love Laura Marling! I have both CDs, but just wanted to say A++ to good taste. ♥ God, she has the most terrific lyrics. Devil's Spoke is my favorite, too.

Thanks so much for sharing these! I love Alas I cannot swim but didn't have it...so I'm looking forward to hearing the other one (:

I love the story of Laura Marling's influence the band Mumford & Sons too, hehe.

As far as I'm aware Laura Marling was dating a guy who had a great voice, great musical style etc and she encouraged him to form a band...which he did and they're called Mumford & Sons. Really popular now.

Have you heard of them? One of my top 10 songs of all time is by them, I can upload it for you if you want (:
