That computer is way too expensive. You could get an AMD2500+ with a Radeon 9600 Pro and a few goodies for well under a grand and it'd be much faster for games (Radeon 9200 being shite by comparison)

Still a pile of money though /:

good god, why would you buy a system from future shop?

i could build you a clone of my system (which is more or less a clone of ken's, i do suppose for..um. let's see. end parenthesis.)

for the whole package (mb, cpu, ram, hd, cdrw/dvd, case, video, monitor) ... here is my quote.

$~880 [before tax]

- AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton, which you can easily clock to 2.09)
- ASUS A7N8X-X (Yeah, i know you don't like ASUS. MSI has a comparable mb for aroudn the same price i figure)
- 512MB pc400
- WD 8MB cache, 120GB
- Sapphire Radeon 9600XT (think it's good? 9600Pro is discont. i believe)
- And a good old Samsung 750s Monitor.
- Um, and ... some case.

... and an LG cd-rw, dvd-rom combo drive. Just for style.

I think I'm tainted to the old ASUS boards - I realize that they're pretty del-facto in the computing field these days, so that's good to hear. I'm sure nowadays they're quality boards, as otherwise, they would've gone under when they're boards sucked hard back in the early 90s.
