trying to understand the stupid that is going on in this particular conversation about health care is like looking into the sun whilst beating on your kneecap with a ball-peen hammer.

It comes down to gauging the capitalist system of for-profit health care and the primacy of granting rights to individual citizens. In the past capitalism always won.

I think Rahm Emanuel said it best - it's not about actually helping people anymore, if it ever was for republicans, it's about defeating Obama's plan. That's why they can't be bothered to do a little bit of research before foaming at the mouth like this.
