Ha ha...just what we need - a little levity after all that drama in 8:16. Classic town meeting there, and I can't wait to see/read what's coming!

But, why males play the step-sisters and Grand Dame???

Well, they are the evil 'ugly' step-sisters (and step-mother). I also believe we're going with more of a British version with the characters (with Pantomime Dames) where female characters are usually played by males.

I'm sure damselfly_wings or dragonfly0303 could explain more.

Ha. Okay. You're correct Audi. Pantomime has been around for a very long time. Centuries. Back to the days of Shakespeare and even way before then. The roles of women were traditonally played by men. Women at the time not were allowed on the stage. Boo to the olden days! But it makes for very funny present day panto's which is the point. Now why Prince Charming is usually a woman, lol, I'm not sure. Damselfly?

Good question! I'm not really sure either. Doing research for this project, the tradition became popular in the 19th century. Prince Charming, or the lead "male" character, always wore a really short, tight-fitting skirted jacket, with fishnet stockings, and tall boots, so it was a great opportunity for women of that era to show off their legs (which were usually covered to the ankles). That was considered acceptable on the stage because they were playing a male role. In these enlightened days, though, it's probably just somebody's idea of funny.

A town event. Exactly what we needed. And I loved how the town overruled Taylor ;)

It's great that Rory is still participating in SH. That was one of the things that was missing in S7.

Absolutely fabulous!! I don't know where you guys came up with this idea, but I love it! And whoever did the posters did an amazing job! Is that really TJ?!? Oh how I love the Townies!

On a side note....I'm wondering what Nate's got on his mind right now....

Keep up the FANTASTIC work!

The best one yet! anonymous March 31 2008, 16:15:50 UTC
Absolutely wonderful : ) The poster is just great. Lulu looks so beautiful & I can just picture the guys in their silly dresses. The dialogue during the dancing scene is just spot-on. Thanks for taking us back to classic Stars Hollow silliness - we all needed a dose! I will be interested to know why Rory chose the Africa gig though since we haven't seen her pro/con list yet, lol. Best, Greta
