Feels strange to be out of school. Very short vacation though --- only 13 working days off... Far from the whole "two to three month vacation" that most people cite as a reason for teaching. Unfortunately the heat index is climbing sort of high here, and so our field trip today and tomorrow was cancelled. I am unsure exactly as to why it was cancelled; when I walked home, it really did not feel so bad, and I don't believe it came anywhere close to the predictions. Okay, so before I go finish getting ready for Harry Potter Nite Extravaganza, let me say --- go see Hairspray. Possibly the best musical movie I have seen, so bright, colorful, musical, and HILARIOUS. Good week. Summer school feels as if it's dragging some, possibly because I often only have 2 students, and thus we run through stuff very quickly, or there is not much to do at all.
