i didnt realize that on receivers that old, there are three audio input areas and one output for an antenna.
i had the "audio in" attached to one of the antenna thingies. the technics table is SOOOOOOOOOOO sensitive to sound. seriously, i breathed on the needle and it sounded like a storm.
