She stared at the blinking cursor, where should she start? Norah Jones was playing softly in the background, her children laughed in the other room. She took a moment to procrastinate, clicking on random songs in her Itunes. Adele? Too deep. Aretha Franklin? Too soulful. Abba? Too disco-y. What the hell is a Vladmir ( Read more... )

I like the edits and getting rid of the bold text, but now I think maybe adding * * * or ~ ~ ~ or some other divider between the sections might be helpful, LOL. Totally your choice, though. :)

The story about the kitten just really hit home. How could anyone turn out something so small and in need of protection? There's nothing wrong about wanting to protect those that can't do it for themselves. And nothing wrong about caring about others and being happy, either. :)

I know exactly how you feel. I have all these memory blocks, some from the head trauma and some because I just don't think my heart can handle the remembrance. When that one came back to me I almost lost it. I called my mom, who I have long since forgiven, and yelled and cried until I was hoarse. Of all the bad things that have happened that's one of the ones that has affected me the most. I think it may be the thing that started to form me into who I became. I decided I would never be cruel and would always look out for the underdog, sometimes I take that to the extreme (ask my husband lol)

:hugs you: I always appreciate when you read my entries, thank you. :)

I liked the "true" story here very much, but the interludes of 3rd person didn't work for me at all (they made the story feel less genuine, and this story has wonderfully vivid truth to it).

I will never understand people who use cruelty to teach you that life is cruel. The lesson there always seems to be that those people are cruel, and you should get the hell away from them as fast as you can. That poor little kitten-- rescued only to be put right back in the hell he'd escaped. A roofless doghouse is no better than tossing him right back out into the snow.

I'm glad you had a chance to do that again the way you wanted to the first time, and to show your children the lesson of compassion instead.

*nods* I've had a lot of people tell me that about this entry. I'll have to remember that if I make it through to the next round.

:( That's what I tried to explain to them but they wouldn't have it. I don't know why people do that either, it makes no sense. I think they thought it would toughen me up but it only made me softer.

Me too. My children have been a real blessing to me. Thank you for reading and commenting.

Beautifully done. I think we could use a few more glitches in the world!
