I loved this interesting twist on the classic story, and the idea that Alice really belonged someplace else (really, anywhere else) than the life she'd slowly been backed into.

The smugness of David and gleefulness of his dreadful children as they can't wait to tell her they've murdered her beloved cat while she was gone... *shudders* Vivid and irrevocably awful.
