ooh, yeah, that was a great book! I loved all the back story for two of our favorite Next Generation characters and you're right about the raw emotions between them. Peter David is a great author.
Another great Trek book is "Spock's World" that delves much into the history of Vulcan. Not a normal adventure story but very well written.
Imzadi! Oh yes! Super book, I was a massive Troi/Riker 'shipper.. what am I saying? I still am.. and Picard/Crusher *sigh* I would agree with starduchess about 'Spock's World' - you learn so much about why the Vulcan people keep such a tight lid on their emotions.
For me, *the* book is a children's book - 'The Children of Green Knowe'. When dad was in the army and we moved around a lot the only thing that was my constant were my books. I honestly think that and 'The Lion, the With & the Wardrobe' saved my sanity.
