book recomendation:  This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti.

Have any of you ever thought about spiritual warfare?  This book deals with it in a scary, straightforward manner.  its about a town of people.  for some reason (that i dont know YET) the pagan god Ba-al, who is really a demon, has brought all his yuckies to turn this town to "the dark ( Read more... )

Baal. Mentioned in the Bible, Elisha (I believe) and the priest's of Baal (pronounced bay-uh) have a bit of a contest. They wet logs down and see which of the two almighty deities can light the logs on fire. God wins, of course.

Also, an enemy of the Isrealites capture the Ark of the Covenant. They place it before a statue of Baal. We all know what happens.

Baal is also referred to in the bible as Beelzebub or Baalzebub, one of the fallen angels of Satan.

yep. i knew that. the only thing i didnt know was how to say it. in the book they have it written like "Ba-al". this book is all biblically correct, written by a christian of course. you should read it--its AWESOME!
