Meredith wasn't actually supposed to be working that night, having an early class and all. But some emergency or other had come up and when the last girl had been called away they'd asked Meredith to come it. They knew she usually did...and if she didn't it took her all of five seconds to point out how inconsiderate she thought they were. Tonight was a "I could use the money" night.

She saw the glass being pushed before she say the man. It was her way, paying more attention to the drinks.

By the time she refilled the glass, she actually got a good look at him and he seemed almost...giddy. Well. Hell. That wasn't the uptight, socially stunted professor she'd met just the other day, was it?

Well, she wasn't in school now.

"Here you are, darling. On the house," she said low, leaning a bit across the bar and waiting to see if he'd recognize her.

Audrik looked up after recognizing the voice that was speaking to him. His eyes seemed to light up as he remembered the fact that they had once met.

"Hey! Thanks" he said happily. He raised the glass to her and took a large gulp the moment it was rested before him.

"You work here, too?" he asked, wiping his mouth.

A smirk stretched across her lips because really? Meredith nearly laughed outright, but that wasn't her style.

Instead, she waved a hand, glanced down to see if anyone needed anything then looked back at him. She decided not to comment on the complete personality change.

"Yep. I'm a woman of many talents. Most of them involve liquor. I don't see you around here very often." Wow, that inadvertedly sounded like a line. She took refuge in the fact he probably wouldn't notice.

"That's because I don't drink often," he admitted, grinning at her before taking another large sip from his glass, making a bit of a face as he did.

"Though," he began. "I'm not sure why. I feel fantastic!"
