I'm saddened by the loss of so many children, but (on the little bit silly side) I realised that they would have all passed away by now naturally anyway. :/
It's wild that there's motion picture of events 100 years ago. There was nothing really like that from the 1980's and 90's - I guess we can look forward to footage of events loooong past on the news now.
Horses pulling Fire Trucks in the early 1900's! Wow! I know the internal cumbustion engine didn't come into vogue yet by then, but it still boggles the mind.

Maybe it has much to do with my mother's family living in the Collinwood area. But what gets me most is seeing images of the children and read their stories, and feeling the pain of loss.
I also want to give praise to my coworkers at Cleveland Public Library who brought this film to light, and for their customary fine work assembling an incredibly moving exhibit commorating this tragic event.
Often we gripe about our workplace, but I can say I am very proud of mine.
