Maybe they just assume you are immaculate and don't generate garbage.

It's a possibility the gatherers are all new and are under such a
misapprehension.

Our trash collectors are a bit like that. They're very fussy. I think they're starting to think of themselves as highly trained professionals who should only have to deal with garbage of the highest quality, rather than just trash collectors whose job it is to collect the trash.

Considering some of messes I've seen on collection day, my trash is quite above approach.

my tactic would be to let it sit. unless it contained something smelly. ew.

If it were smelly, I'd jam it in the bishop's A/C unit.

Not that this helps your situation,

but once we had a garbage day in Cortland, then there was a snowstorm, and that garbage wasn't collected until the snow melted three months later. We kept wondering if the guys would dig it out of the mound, but no, they would only take the new bags we put on top of the mound.

Thank you. I was ready to stubbornly let the bags sit until next
week. But the little o/c imp inside of me took control, and I whisked
the stuff away to a nearby public bin.

Mine might have been behind the icy crest. However, I will
state my case in more graphic terms at a later date (hour).
