Briskly, Franziska returned to her office, her fingers fumbling with a small ring of keys as she desperately tried to juggle the tall stack of papers in hand. It would have been easier just to set something down, but Franziska refused, the sands of time already being wasted thanks to an incompetent detective by the name of Scruffy. Franziska quickly cast aside any negative thoughts fogging her mind, and instead returned her focus to the task at hand; unlocking the door. Finally fitting the key into the lock Franziska nudged the door open and stepped inside, her eyes lifting to her desk. It was not going to be an easy task, but then again, today had been full of unnecessary hardships, .. thanks to her small size. "Detective! Jetzt aber rein!"

...and there she was, as imperious as ever. Even when she was young, Franziska carried the same righteous, self assured demeanor as her father. Where one expected a child stood a force of nature and raw determination, although in all honesty, forces of nature rarely had trouble opening doors. Edgeworth stood in shock, not quite sure whether or not he could trust his eyes, until her shrill shout snapped him back to attention. He jerked back, blinked, and before he could stop himself, he began to march towards her.

"Franziska von Karma." His voice was firm, his gaze was steady, and nothing betrayed the strong sense of pure disbelief that lingered in his mind.

She knelt down, leaning her stack of paperwork against the desk before retrieving her crop from its peak, her fingers gliding over its sleek raw hide, .. almost lovingly. Flinching, her moment ruined, Franziska spun around; the crop unceremoniously hidden behind her back.

"Miles Edgeworth. This is your fault." Her free hand had fallen to her whip, and no sooner was Franziska thinking about binding Miles' in its leather coils. Fortunately for him, her reduced size had made it impossible for her to adequately wield her beloved whip, so, for the time being, there would only be minor crop related injuries. "Why hadn't you warned me about those off schedule trains? If it weren't for you, all of this could have been avoided!"

Edgeworth's eyes followed Franziska's hand, and for once, felt almost grateful for this event. As terrible as it was, at least his face would be free from whip marks for the time being.

...assuming she hadn't found her old riding crop, that is.

"I had assumed you all ready read about it," he answered. "Besides, I was only told about it just recently ...in a place where you could see it as well, I might add."
