On the overly hip ... no. It was his impression of the peeps in the lounge at the Drake that smacked of Too Hip For Him. It's a fiddly thing, that sense of belonging. I shall have to babble about that in full sometime. For someone whom people generally label "reasonably entertaining" I can be stupidly insecure about, er, seeming stupid, and TDIS is Shy so he's got some hefty social fear in him, too.
Favourite game? Hmmm. Don't know that I've got one. It's more about a favourite experience, which seems consistent with what I've read is the impetus for zee game playing. (We're all just lab rats, aren't we. ::chuckle::) Last time, the standout was playing Jenga with a friend and her newly acquired "ex-husband" (they'd played a game together earlier in the night and were waxing playful, and apparently the "backstory" followed them to the Jenga table). This time it may have been playing Guesstures, because I learned a thing or two from my playmates.

As for the favourite game, it changes from time to time, but usually my favourite is Taboo. I like the manic energy and word play. I also really like the cruel way Mischa announces the downfall of the Jenga tower.
