I use trillian, rather than AIM but it has the AIM platform on it, does anyone know if it is possible to join aim chat rooms on trillian?

Yes, I use trillian too. Add yourself to your buddylist and left click, invite yourself to a chat, type in augnobuddies and then click invite.
