NOTES:
This was a behemoth. And I don't say that lightly. At all. The body count is thus: 6 OC portraits, 3 paintings of scenes from the fic, 12 banners of cities Dean and Cas visit in the fic, one painting of a tiny Russian church in Antartica, and another of a small mosque in Bandung, Indonesia. Plus 2 mini banners and a not so mini cover. That's 26 pieces in total...
The moral: twoskeletons and jaimeykay 's 'Without a Map' is unlike any other story. At its heart this is travelogue, encompassing bustling cities in the heat, and the freezing deserts of Antartica, subterranean caverns under ancient holy places, and equally holy summits above the cloud line. And if you thought the places were exotic, wait till you meet the people: a sci-fi loving Antartican priest, a convenience store owning prophetess missing her god, a mythical Greek beauty with passion for the Boston Red Sox, a fierce and fiery Hawaiian goddess in love with an equally fiery Indian one. Oh, and an angel looking for his father, with hunter missing his brother in tow. As Dean and Castiel go on their worldwide search for God and start to discover themselves, the two very talented writers suck you into a world of breath taking scenery, glorious food, and places where anything is possible. If you read only a couple of DCBBs this year, let this be one of them.
