I still read this. I skim through my friends page almost every day. Mostly, it's the same handful of people who update frequently. They almost never have anything interesting to say. They're my friends and I love them, but... well, there are two types of LJ users. Those who use it on a daily basis to post boring descriptions of their days, or ask questions to their friends, or announce their plans for the evening, etc. And then there are those who view this as a kind of writing experiment, who make an effort to be creative or at least somewhat interesting from time to time. You fall in that second category, so whenever you post somethinng, it's like a special treat. You may think it's boring and pointless, but it's not. It reminds me of what LJ used to be... or maybe never was, but could be

oh, i know you by now! no need to explain yourself. the only entries people make that are boring and pointless are written by those who don't realize they're being boring and pointless to begin with.
a couple of times someone's added me to their list and i try to read their long and winded locked-posts but they defriend me the next day -- as though because i didn't add them right away i didn't like what they wrote. and then i'm locked out of their entries, so i'll never be able to read the rest of their stuff. there's a few on my list that i admit i have no idea who they are but i'm trying to get a sense of who they are.
it's the reply thing that's always hard to do, i want to show that i'm paying attention but i have no idea what to say, especially with your posts. i think xanga had the right idea when they made eprops. simple but effective. i should give those out more often. here, have some:
