i have to agree on this 100% have u ever like opened doors for total strangers but you get doors swinging in your face? sigh

Yes. I'm especially offended when men do that - okay, gender stereotypes are outmoded, whatever, but it's the gentlemanly thing to do! Or worse still, you instinctively hold the door for one person...and end up standing there for the next 30 minutes as a flood of people rush through.

this has happened to me and it sounds like exactly the kind of sort-of/real Culture Shock that struck me on my return -- even when mentally prepared, it still gets me emotionally.
