Whatever happened to good ol' fashioned politeness? I may be many unpleasant things, but at least I was brought up with a measure of etiquette. I say please and thanks, hold doors for total strangers, and attempt to show consideration towards those around me. i have to agree on this 100% have u ever like opened doors for total strangers but you get doors swinging in your face? sigh

Yes. I'm especially offended when men do that - okay, gender stereotypes are outmoded, whatever, but it's the gentlemanly thing to do! Or worse still, you instinctively hold the door for one person...and end up standing there for the next 30 minutes as a flood of people rush through.

Great icon, btw. I love me some Kahlo. Obviously I'm in lust with Salma Hayek too but I swear it's unrelated.

sadly i have opened doors for weak-looking females only to have a few males traipse happily through as i hold the door open.

this post suggests someone has come back to Singapore from somewhere else

this has happened to me and it sounds like exactly the kind of sort-of/real Culture Shock that struck me on my return -- even when mentally prepared, it still gets me emotionally.
