After a truly wonderful time in Buxton, that others have already written about, Catriona, Lianbe and I headed for the train to Stockport.  We cuaght it nicely - not doing a Rosie you notice! - and it trundled its way to Stockport.  Now Stockport is a truly unique station, for it has a platform 0!  Yes, honestly platform 0!  The train to Buxton left ( Read more... )

I have my results, and they are not good. They have found cancer, but don't know where the source is. Probably one of my breasts but it doesn't show, even with ultrasound.  I will have to have an MRI scan - probably on Tuesday.  I have already had a blood sample taken.  I gather that 3-5% don't show on mammograms or ultrasound, and the radiologist ( Read more... )

It took us about 3.5 hours to get to Sutton Hoo yesterday, but it was worth it. A fascinating place, and the exhibition with the replica of the boat was great. We found a leaflet for West Stowe Saxon Village when we were there, so guess what? That's where we went today. It's just north of Bury St Edmonds, so another long run.
