1. In the movie Grease, when Sandy found out she wasn't going back to Australia, why didn't she just get in touch with Danny to let him know? I mean, if they were so in love ("Then we made . . . our true love vow . . . "), didn't they at least exchange addresses? Didn't she at least know what high school he went to, so she'd know to look for him ( Read more... )

*swoon*

He once sang "Young Girl" right to me.

No, I'm not delusional on this point.

He hadn't much choice -- everyone else there was old enough to be my mother.

I was wearing a white Shaker-stitch humungeous sweater w/ a deep V down the back, and pink brocade jeans, rolled up at the cuff.

*sigh*

Well, then it sounds to ME like he didn't have much choice because of your hot, hot outfit - no matter your age - because how could he have taken his eyes off of you? ;-)

Also, I was fairly glowing from the massive sunburn I got that day...

I'd say Meatloaf. Incredibly hot women tend to join in on the fun, but he's never able to keep any of them long enough for the next song.

But at least he gets them, and without the risk of a statutory rape charge.

Oh yeah, who'd Gary do? Is his crime worse than Winger's cry of "She's only seventeen!"

Wait, I wanna change my vote to Iron Butterfly for their heartbreaking single, "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida". It's only nine lines long, but by god, it sums up all unrequited romance. (But no possible jail time, I think. Unless one imagines the song being sung after a failed attempt at autoerotic asphyxiation.)

Hmmmm . . . good point. Which would explain why the one time I saw her in concert it looked like she might be having a very special relationship with her piano bench.

*heh*

Yeah, the time I saw her in concert, I was pretty sure 95% of the audience wished it could be that piano bench...

Except for you, of course. Your heart belonged to Gary Puckett.

1. You're analyzing too much.  You have to suspend your disbelief.

2. Janis Joplin

3. Pleasant dreams, m'dear.

I don't have a problem suspending disbelief - I was perfectly fine with their flying convertible at the end, for example - I just have a problem believing that it never occurred to her to get in touch with him, AND that she'd choose him over Lorenzo Llamas. That's a bit too much suspension, if you ask me.
