Today I am working from the Sheffield office. Usually I would use the tram to get here but today I used the car - because my parking permit has not arrived, so I cannot leave the car parked at home. Brilliant result there

Yeah, you have 2 weeks before they actually enforce the scheme. We have no permits yet either, so I've been handing out a little note saying "Visiting number 84, permits haven't arrived yet". They can come and knock on my door if they care enough to check and see that my sister and my best friend have a valid reason to park within walking distance of my house.
As has been said, there is the 2 weeks "warning period" - we have two notes now, I think. I keep meaning to make a note, must get round to it. Last I heard, they were still working on permits applied for at the end of December/beginning of January, so I hope they will be extending the warning period, or getting their collective fingers out.
And yes, I am irritated at the people who asked for the scheme, especially those who seemed to believe it would allow them to park outside their house, guaranteed. *sigh*
