The latest on the rekitchenation cockup; plus other bits

Got a letter this morning from Islington - well, I thought it was from the council, till I opened it, when I found it was ... sort of. It was from the Labour councillor (to whom I'd sent All The Gory Details), saying she was 'concerned' about the problems I'd been having, and would be looking into it. Her actual words are: "I will take this up ( Read more... )

I might be interested in buying the bow- how much are you asking? It would mean shipping it to Canada, but I would pay for that as well.

I'll copy here what I posted to the club group:

"It's a Greenhorn - 66", weight (adjustable) 33# - 36# @ 28". In the interests of transparency and honesty, the limbs were stacking slightly when last checked, but should probably be OK at the lower end of the weight range. There are at least 20 arrows to go with it (mostly about 25", I think), all aluminium XX75s; long rod, v-bars, various weights, Arten sight, button and clicker. Carbofast bowstand. Various bits of kit including strings, tabs, spanners etc. All in a sturdy travel case with wheels (slightly worn inside where various bits of equipment have bashed it around!).

It originally cost me well over £500, and the case was about £70 (would now cost over £100, I believe). However, given its age I'd be willing to accept offers over £100 for the lot."

Thanks, I'll pass as I'm looking for an entry level bow, and our local group uses wooden arrows.

All those advertisements about how Modern Technology would Make Your Life Simpler: lies, lies, lies. I'm glad the woman you dealt with confirmed everything: somehow, I doubt they'd be as prompt as refunding an overpayment as they are about demanding a payment (most people are, I find...).

I enjoy Toy Story. Um. Except of course that while my kids are laughing, I'm thinking about how slashable the main characters are. Ah, well! A Harry Potter/Toy Story crossover would be fun (*is not picturing Draco Malfoy as a crop-haired Barbie doll... not at all*)
