rules and guidelines
Welcome to aupairs, a fanfiction challenge community specifically for fanfiction set in alternate universes!
Here are some general rules and information regarding this community:
1. All fan fiction must be set in the alternate universe specific to the challenge they are participating in. Generally, in an alternate universe, no Kpop group from the pair exists, or the whole Kpop world does not exist. However, the people in this universe will retain their identity and might know one another, but through different means other than by being a Kpop idol.
Examples:
√ Pairing of Minho/Krystal in a college au where both of them are students
X Pairing of Minho/Krystal where Minho is a member of SHINee and Krystal is someone he meets at a café.
2. All fan fiction can be from any Kpop fandom and of any pairing, including het or slash. Character-centric, OT3 or gen fan fiction is also allowed.
3. There is no minimum or maximum number of words for each response.
4. You may submit one challenge response per challenge but there is no limit to the number of challenges you can join. All fics must be written specifically for each challenge. You may crosspost your fics to other fanfiction communities.
5. Each challenge will take place bi-weekly, with the following format:
- An AU will be provided in each challenge and all submissions must be set in the given AU. However, it is up to you how you wish to interpret the AU.
- Supplementary prompts will be provided in the form of pictures or quotes. You would then choose any of the supplementary prompts for your challenge response.
- Challenge responses will be submitted by replying to the entry. Instructions on replying to the entry will be included in the challenge post itself. In your entry, you will include a link to your challenge response which would be posted in your own fanfiction journal/community.
- At the end of the challenge, a post will go up with a collation of the challenge responses.
- The challenge deadlines will follow Central Time Zone (CST).
6. Plagiarism is strictly not tolerated. Users who plagiarize will be banned immediately. If you notice that any of the submitted responses are plagiarized, please alert one of the mods immediately.

We sincerely hope that you will enjoy this as much as we do! Remember to follow the community rules, and we hope to see your participation in any of our challenges.
