cocktail-party-clothing dilemma!

HELP! I have a cocktail party to attend next saturday and it will be the first time out to an event without my son. i am nervous and i know i'll be calling phillip every 5 minutes to check that he hasn't choked on a teething rusk, drowned chasing duckie in the bathtub or rolled off into the backyard (yes, he's rolling on his side now!)
