Thank you so much! I'm more comfortable writing angst, so I tend to worry about characterization when I do anything lighter.

Well I don't think you need to worry. You write non-angst just fine. I understand where you're coming from, there is always that: Oh goodness is this going to sound worse than a 10 cent bodice ripper? =)
