I used to complain that going to graduate school ruined me for the simple enjoyment of media -- trained to over-analyze, to seek the underlying theme, to identify the transgressive/Marxist/feminist/colonizing strands present in the work, I am unable to simply leave things the hell alone and just enjoy them ( Read more... )

I'm... not quite sure. I have to wonder if this isn't just a prank to see if he can get someone to shell out that kind of money for the lulz, but then again, the guy is mad talented.

The amount of work and skill involved in the creation of that gemstone is phenomenal. Some of his other works are to die for, imo. But... the hands. I just can't get past the hands...
