These bars over our heads - they're hit points and magic points. We're obviously in some sort of RPG. Probably an MMORPG like The World.

It's a roleplaying game. You have different classes that have different abilities... this one is a little different than my usual type, but I think I can manage.

I take it from your confident tone of voice that you are familiar with the changes that this curse has brought? Are you by any chance willing to describe what we can be expecting, to the best of your knowledge at least?

Oh, sure. The classes are a little different... but basically, it's like a roleplaying game. Everyone has a different character class that can do different things. Some are better at spells, and some are better at physical fighting. Others are good at healing, or supporting others in battle.

There's usually quests and monsters to fight, to gain experience. You gain levels with this experience, and you can get strong and better abilities.

I see, then my assessment that it has some similarity to Flarp bears out. Thank you for the information.

The little indicator of "remaining lives" has been worrying me. It seems to suggest that we can die two times without harmful effect, but what of the third time? Do you think that be, as it were, a "real" death?

[He thinks on that for a moment.]

Probably. It would be a good idea to form a party with someone with healing or revival skills.

... And what's 'Flarp'?
