Knitting and various other things

Okay, first the reason I am posting is because I have decided that I want to learn to knit and I know I have several friends on my f-list who are knitters, and I have some questions.

-how hard is it to learn (think back to when you first started trying to knit)
-how much does it cost (the needles, the yarn?, anything else
-what would I need to get ( Read more... )

When is animefest? I hear they'll be several LJers (from my f-list at least) there this year.

The last weekend of this month August 29-31, in Dallas.

There are going to be several LJers that I know of and most of them are staying with doggiearlover - well maybe not most, several.

I'll be there! Be nice to take a Texas trip...sort of miss it. Except when I remember the humidity and the blue northers in winter...LOL.

Knitting is not difficult, at least the basics... In my case I get bored... so I keep changing knots!!LOL Nowadays, don't have the time, every winter I tell myself that will start again... but then... poof, it's spring again! Learned by myself, of course the first sweater was 3 sizes bigger, but was wonderful!! :D Surely you must try it and with KK there as a teacher... well, that is HUGE!!

I'm definitely going to try it.

I am hoping to get a decent scarf or two that I can giveout at Christmas, but only if they look good.

I think I've been cut a couple times, probably for the reason that I post so much. Which is not the best feeling, but on the other hand, I am the type that does read every single post on my f-list (at least, the ones by my friends; I skip communities and feeds and things a lot in order to keep up). I don't always comment, and I sometimes feel like I miss things somehow because my flist is messed up, but it's not purposeful. And I wouldn't mind if you posted more. :)

As for knitting, I tried it a couple times and the only thing I have to say is that I remember it being fairly easy. I was just too lazy to keep up with it. XD

I don't always comment either, unless I have something I really want to say or I think it adds to the conversation, but I do read everything.

I may find I am too lazy to keep up with knitting, but I am going to give it a try anyway :)

I've cut people both for reasons of posting too much (about crap I don't care about) and never posting/not posting enough, so I'd say it's more positive than that you're not being cut for sheer lack of updating ;)

Thanks.

I have been trying to be more active/comment more so maybe that has something to do with it as well
