 So I stumbled upon this

These are metaphors from high school paper - though I don't think all are metaphors strictly speaking... Here are the best ones and my favorites are in bold.

Thanks for the laugh! just what I needed before I head to bed. I have to admit, I kind of liked #4, too.

And then I had to go read the rest for myself. How did you leave these gems out? :)

11. From the attic came an unearthly howl. The whole scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you’re on vacation in another city and Jeopardy comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30

12. Her hair glistened in the rain like a nose hair after a sneeze.

13. The hailstones leaped from the pavement, just like maggots when you fry them in hot grease.

heh. I thought 6 and 20 were pretty good, but I think I've read 20 somewhere in an actual book.

The name may have been changed. The thank you letter is classic. Thanks for the chuckle. :)
