Supernatural is my crack
Seriously, I love this freaking show. The premiere tonight was awesome
If you aren't watching it you should be and not just because Jensen Ackles is like the sexiest man alive, either.
4:01 Lazarus Rising
Opens with a recap of last season.
The flashes of eyes with blood around them like it is smeared all over the guys face - You can tell it's Dean. The it goes dark and you hear distressed breathing and Dean lights his lighter and we see that he's in a coffin. He is clearly freaked out (of course) and has to break the boards of the coffin and then managed to dig himself free. He climbs out and all around him the earth is scorched and the trees are bare and fallen like a bomb dropped in that spot.
Dean starts walking, and eventually breaks into a gas station for a drink of water. He makes a quick trip to the restroom to clean up a bit and find a hand print burned into his arm. He starts packing a bag of food and water to take and then moves to clean out the register when the TV comes on all static - then the radio. He gets worried that a demon is coming and tried to salt the windows but they all blow out and Dean tried to cover his ears at the horrible sound.
Back on the road he calls Bobby who doesn't believe that it's really him, so Dean steals a car and drives to Bobby's, where Bobby promptly tries to kill Dean several times and finishes with splashing holy water on Dean's face. With no idea how he was brought back, but suspecting that Sam made his own deal they go to hunt down Sam.
Sam is at a sleazy motel with a sleazy looking chick and sporting a sleazy looking hair style. Sam greets his brother by trying to kill him, but Bobby stops him and then there is a happy reunion hug. The chick in her underwear asks if they are 'together' before leaving.
Turns out Sam, couldn't make a deal, since no demon would barter with him and the boys are forced to try and find out how Dean was brought back. They go see a psychic who tried to summon the 'demon' and she gets a name Castiel, and then she also gets her eyes burned out of her head...
The boys feel bad and they go to a diner to talk and Sam suggests they ask the demons he was tracking about it. dean want to summon the 'demon' But before they get too far in the conversation they find out that the demons are at the diner. One demon threatens to kill them and Dean calls her bluff, saying that she can't kill him because she doesn't know who she might be pissing off that wants him alive. She threatens him again and he knocks her around a few times and he and Sam leave. They argue about going back and killing the demons but Dean says it's too risky going three on two wit just the one demon killing knife.
Later Sam sneaks out to go to the diner and Dean gets woken up after he's gone by the same ear piercing noise from the gas station. The he almost gets sliced to ribbons by the mirror that was on the hotel room's ceiling. Bobby shows up and he and Dean head out to summon whoever brought him back. While they do that Sam enters the diner to find the demons with their eyes burned out. Sam has a small tussle with the girl demon and asks her if she saw 'him' She says yes, but tells Sam to go to hell when he asks her to tell him about it. Then Sam is all ' I was about to say the same thing' and he uses his ESPN mojo to send the demon to hell or to kill it - I couldn't tell for certain which
So then a girl shows up - I think it's sleazy girl from earlier, adn Sam is all 'Hi Ruby'. He gets emo for a bit about what he's been doing and about being dishonest with Dean, but he feels good about killing demons and wants to keep learning his powers.
Meanwhile Dean and Bobby summon and 'he' arrives. They try to kill 'him' but nothing works not even the demon killing knife. The 'man' knocks Bobby out with a finger to the forehead and tells Dean they need to talk.
Big reveal - The one who brought Dean back was an angel who did so on orders from The Big Guy himself and they have work for Dean to do.
My thoughts.
I don't know if I like the new 'Ruby' though since I actually really liked the old one. I don't know she doesn't seem... bitchy enough I guess. I'll give he a few more episodes before I decide for certain. This new Ruby just doesn't seem like she would be able to out 'Dean' Dean, if that makes any sense. The other was at least a fierce enough bitch to give him some real attitude, but this one seems too soft.
Oh and Sam's hair is so gross. It makes him look terrible and sleazy and not in a sexy way like the way Dean is kind of sleazy.
Jared can look really good. I mean he's no Jensen (Dean girl here XD), but he can be really hot and that hair would say otherwise. It's a shame, really.
Someone on my f-list wondered why the angel thought he would be able to talk to Dean and it's a good question.
My only guess is that maybe because God though Dean was important/special/kick ass/SUPER HOT enough to be brought back he thought that surely must mean that he really was someone great enough to be able to hear his voice. IDK that's the only thing that makes sense to me, especially since the angel seemed surprised Dean and his lack of faith and his feelings of not being worth saving- or it seemed that way to me.
Watching did make me think of one thing though. I would love the show forever if Dean gets to say "I kick ass for the Lord." (obscure 'Dead Alive' reference. It's like Peter Jacksons first movie and it is GREAT. B-rate horror at it's finest with the most awsome gore ever. Seriously.)
Other reactions Sam is acting kind of strange. I full on would have expected early Sammy to be on Dean like 24/7, after having him miraculously return from the dead.
I sense an exciting season ahead.
