I love my summer job!

This summer I'm working as a museum guide at the Seurasaari open-air museum in Helsinki. My work is basically to guard the museum houses and tell people about them. I get to do all kind of handicrafts all summer and enjoy the weather. Plus I have really nice outfit, a traditional Finnish folk costume (not a canonized national costume). Lol, I love my summerjob too, but I still can't be just a bit jealous when I look at these pictures :D It looks so nice and calm, when compared to our hectic little sweatshop.. X) But on the other hand, I had my last day at work yesterday - so now I'll have couple of weeks freedom before I have to start working on the next projects :)

Also, I got a very praising reference and an unofficial promise that me and Jonna will be the Ultimate Masters of Costumemaking for next years Medieval Market as well! That would be great - a lot of good progress was done this year, but there's still SO much more I want to make before I'm completely satisfied with the costumes ;) Hopefully we'll also both get proper paychecks this time..

Hee, it is very nice and calm (mostly), but on the other hand, I don't have a holiday this summer and can't come to Saltvik because of this job.

But that's great news about the Medieval Market! I once dreamed about being a professional costumer, and being a Ulmtimate Master of Costumemaking for Turku Medielval Maret would have been so_cool! And based on the pictures I've seen from the market, you did a wonderful job with the resources. *Fingers crossed for the proper paycheck* :)

Btw, what's your next project?

It looks like a lovely summer job; I'm kind of jealous too.

Of course it has it's own pros and cons like every job, but most of the time I feel really lucky just to be able to work there. It would be perfect without the customers ;)
