V. Strange, V. Strange indeed... I have ordered a father's day gift from the United States... and I am once again forced to question the logic of the americans... don't get me wrong, they're very nice people... but why would you send a package coming to Calgary through Illinois???? Peoria, right? Catagorized by time zones, sometimes, but in Peoria there's a big office just for packages going up. My uncle works there.

And yes, logic normally doesn't come into our goverment ;)

In the United States, the US Postal Service has a number of large routing service hubs. Say if its coming from Florida like you said, they'll send it to the nears hub to be transfered.

They won't drive a truck from Florida to Illinois, since South Carolina is closer. More efficient for the workers, less efficient for long-range packages.

Like, here in Bloomington, this is a hub for Southern Indiana because of the college.

Its macromanagization at its best folks!

Or was that its worst?
