For those of you who have been following the fires in Aptos and Santa Cruz counties, my parents' house, for the moment, is not in the mandatory evacuation zone. However, about a half a mile away across the vinyard near my parents' house  IS in the evac zone. I'll be keeping in touch with them all weekend to make sure that they are doing alright. If

Thanks hon. Right now it looks like the area is still pretty far away. Farther than it was earlier. The humidity level is now up to 80% and it looks like it may rain today. All good things!

The news we're getting out here is sketchy and it sounded like it was closer to Hwy 17 and not over by Freedom and Corralitos! Now I am fretting! ;_;

It's not really near 17, it's more near Nisene Marks Park. It looks like rain this morning, so enough people praying for rain might actually work this time! :D

Jeeze I saw the smoke yesterday morning I hear there starting to get it contained today. at least theres some fog today and the wind is dying down, that should help.

Definitely. I'll still be keeping in contact with my parents today, but I can barely see the smoke any more. It's mostly just stormclouds now. *does a rain-dance!*

Yeah, my parents aren't as worried any more, it's like 50% contained... I know that's half NOT contained, but it's better than the 10% they had on the first day!
